“Life can be full of unexpected things, either happy or sad, but no matter what things may happen, just always keep a loving heart, a wise mind and a strong FAITH in GOD who will always stay with us through all the journey of our life.” -Anonymous
First of all, I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings to all LICERIANS as a new member of your family. I know how hard it can be to be a new member of a group but like the quotation said above, GOD is my shepherd and my guidance. LICERIANS, I would like you to know that I will keep the legacy of the previous administrators you had but let me do my part to continue what they’ve already started. Even though there were trials and hindrances, I know that we will overcome those barricades in the spirit of a loving heart, a wise mind and a strong faith to the ONE, our GOD. Aim high LICERIANS! To all the walks of life and be proud that you were one of the recipients of this institution: the GENERAL LICERIO TOPACIO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. |

Looking Back...
Imus is a first class municipality with an annual (as of 1998 and still increasing) of P131, 919, 530.17, located 21 kilometers southwest of Manila, on sprawling flat land comprising about 9, 701 hectare sliced by three major rivers. It is bounded in the north by Bacoor half of Zapote on the southern bank of the river made famous during Philippine revolution, in the east by a narrow strip of land on the western side of Laguna de Bay, in the south and southwest by Dasmariñas and Gen. Trias respectively and the west and northwest by Kawit. With its increasing great number of population, a big percentage is bound to high school from different elementary schools such as Anabu I and II Elem., Bayan Luma I Elem., Buhay na Tubig Elem., C. Topacio Elem., Palico Elem., Pasong Buaya I, II and III Elem., Pasong Santol Elem., Alapan I and II Elem., Bucandala Elem., Carsadang Bago Elem., E. Villanueva Elem., Malagasang Elem., Tinabunan Elem., Toclong Elem., and not to mention those coming from other provinces and private elementary schools.
Before, there were only two existing public high schools in the municipality namely Imus National High School and Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo National High School which initially served 11, 776 students with a ratio of 1:98 for every class. The Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo National High School, the mother school of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo National High School – Annex is 5 – 6 kilometers away that catered to enrolees coming from Bacoor, Las Piñas, Dasmariñas, and Kawit.
In the year 2007, the rapid increase in the population of General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School – Imus signalled the rise of an annex school situated in Pasong Buaya II, Imus, Cavite. The local government of Imus through the initiative of former Mayor Homer T. Saquilayan and later was carried on by Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi, fully recognized the crucial need and the importance of education towards people empowerment, economic progress, advancement, and awareness of the scarcity of 3 academic resources, thus, the General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School – Annex was established.
The access to free education had materialized when former Secretary of the Department of Education, Jesli A. Lapuz approved the request for the opening of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo National High School – Annex. It started with the Saquilayan building that housed 6 classrooms in a one thousand five hundred sixty five (1,565) square meter property at block 8 lot 21 Hugo Vidal St. Bahayang Pag-asa Phase 10 Pasong Buaya II, Imus, Cavite. GEANHS-ANNEX started with only 247 students and 6 teachers under the supervision of Mr. Jose E. Samson, Head Teacher VI of English.
A special budget for the teachers was obtained from the local government until they were promoted to national items and budget was subsidized by the national government. Since then, supports from different sectors became steady and several improvements were made. More classrooms were built to accommodate the fast increase in the number of students. School supplies, textbooks, and equipment were provided.
Then Mrs. Glenda DS. Catadman, Head Teacher VI of Filipino department of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo National High School - Imus, came as the new officer-in-charge as Mr. Jose E. Samson, Jr. rose to the position of Principal I at Taywanak National High School.
Through the diligent leadership of Mrs. Catadman, additional teachers were hired. There were active involvement in different division/regional/national seminars, trainings, and workshops. Outstanding students also participated in many competitions and won different awards. This paved way as the school started to be recognized in the academics, as well as in sports. More activities and school events were conducted which also helped in the development of new projects for the welfare of the students and of the whole community.
GEANHS-ANNEX has become a school that is continuously expanding and improving not only in physical structures but also in the quality of education being offered to more than a thousand students. The school will continue to prosper as it reaches its full autonomy. To date, the name General Licerio Topacio National High School came to reality through the efforts of our distinguished District Representative, Cong. Alex L. Advincula with the supervision of the new Officer-in-Charge, Arturo P. Rosaroso Jr.
